Frustrated by the many challenges of browsing LinkedIn for job listings, I created a chrome extension to smooth over some of the friction. Specifically, as a junior developer I wanted to address the difficulty posed by finding out how much experience a particular position requires without reading the entire thing. Since listings aren’t very standardized, it can be hard find the information you want right away. Too many times I’ve started to get excited about a job only to realize there’s a stealthy request for ten years of experience tacked on to the end. Anyways, this extension takes away that uncertainty! With the click of a button, the listing body is sent off to an LLM that extracts the required amount of experience automatically, and within a few seconds the result is displayed to the user along with an easy to read color code.
